A good philosophical discussion is one of life’s great pleasures, though is not always so easy to achieve. Our meetings follow certain principles and procedures to enable enjoyable conversations, without stifling free expression and space for digression. More details will be given in the first meeting, but some features of good dialogue are:
Careful, active listening
Clarity of communication, including discussing the meaning of concepts and not speaking too much
Being open-minded, modest and uncompetitive
Sensitivity and respect for individuals, even when strongly disagreeing with their views
Analyzing statements, examining assumptions and exploring implications
